Modifiers: ! (doesn't contain), >, <, =, >=, <= and ^ (is empty). Searches with any modifier apply to the entire field. Searches without modifiers look for any occurance of the search string within the selected field. After double-clicking the search button it reads Extend if a search can be extended with AND or OR in the operator field. The special ↑↓ operator inverts the current search.
Most searches can be saved for later use by entering a name in the "save as" field and clicking Save search. Any saved searches are available for the current table, are shown in a drop down list. Always click the Search button after selecting a saved search. A saved search cannot extend a current search.
The sndx button launches the Soundex utility which looks for a similar sounding word within a field. This is useful if a search term or target contains an apostrophe, hyphen or accented character or is a name with possible spelling variations. More detail on soundex comparisons is provided in the utility.
Block operations apply to all records returned by the current search filter. Block operations cannot be undone. Backing up is recommended before trying any block operation.
